COM CONNECTIONS IN PENNSYLVANIA

ALUMNI NOTES

The world of medicine is so small. Katie Lincoln, DO '05, MHA, was searching for speakers for her Inaugural Women in Medicine event at the Guthrie Medical Group in Sayre, PA. She saw on UNE’s Facebook page that Dr. Susan Wehry, Chief of Geriatrics at her alma mater, had given a lecture on Healthy Aging in Maine. Dr. Lincoln contacted Dr. Wehry and proposed a visit for her to be Guest Faculty as a keynote speaker for the P.A.U.S.E. summit on Feb. 7 & 8th in Nichols, NY.

Dr. Wehry drove through the snow, sleet, and mud to present her message. "And I'm glad I did," says Dr. Wehry. "I learned a lot from the other speakers who covered everything from Nutritional Considerations Across the Life Cycle to Breast Cancer Screening in the Age of Personalized Medicine. Hats off to Katie: the event was well-organized and showed great breadth, especially for an inaugural event." Dr. Lincoln noted that Dr. Wehry's lecture, "Healthy Aging," "was the best attended and most talked about lecture of the day." Dr. Lincoln and Dr. Wehry are so glad to have connected through UNE COM and look forward to many thoughtful, educational experiences together.
