Kyle Scully received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Forensic Science with a focus in forensic chemistry and toxicology from Mercyhurst College, before going on to receive his PhD in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience with a focus in neuropharmacology from the University of Rhode Island. He comes to us from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where he served, since 2015, as assistant professor of pharmacology. Dr. Scully has 8 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and technical rescue specialist, serving communities in RI and PA.

Joel Talsma spent 10 years in forensic pathology before shifting to medical education, where he is in his 10th year of teaching gross anatomy to medical students, having previously been at UNE COM and TouroCOM. His research interests, in part, have focused on spine research supported by grants from the Spine Intervention Society. He has also just finished working on a fascial dissection project with the Fascial Net Plastination Project at the Body Worlds Exhibition in Guben, Germany. In his free time, he enjoys paddle boarding and hiking.

COM welcomes new OMM Faculty, Kiran Mangalam, DO and Paul Segal, DO. Dr. Segal is an Internal Medicine/Nephrologist practicing at Southern Maine Healthcare in Kennebunk. Dr. Mangalam taught at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and is also a Family Medicine Physician in Maine.
