Transformation to the New World

One reason why many young people feel so lost today and it’ s the constant pressure to be like everyone else, to listen to the same music like Kanye West, Lana Del Rey and other musicians. Social media though, it shows us a perfect life with success, happiness, and mostly how to act fake because everything on social media is just fake. It makes teenagers compare themselves to something fake instead of doing something about their own interests. Just like Billie Eilish said, people focus too much on what other people are doing, it makes us forget what WE want, what we want to focus on. It’ s like living for approval instead of ourselves.
In conclusion, this generation is growing up too fast because of constant pressure and comparisons. If we don’ t slow down and allow us, young people, to grow at our own pace, the effects of mental health will only get worse and worse with that time.
This transformation also impacts mental health. Constantly comparing ourselves to others makes us feel insecure and jealous. Seeing perfect lives online creates pressure to grow up faster, achieve more and have everything figured out rather than enjoying the moment. This generation constantly races against the future and we fear that we will fall behind. But, when you get what you have, you feel restlessness in you, like you just need more and more.
We shifted so fast, this generation. It’ s like our childhood seems to vanish away slowly. We faced adult problems, opinions and expectations at a young age. We are expected to know our identities, our goals and how to act before we make mistakes. This rapid growth pace is stressful and us young people feel anxious, scared and vulnerable.
