Human Transformation and the Environment
Sevim İrem İLHAN ‣
Throughout history, humans have always been changing. In the past, this change happened slowly. Today, technology makes these changes faster. Technology makes life easier and better, but it also changes the environment. Many of these changes happen without thinking and can harm nature. Since the early 20 th century, fast industrial growth has changed the environment a lot. The increased use of fossil fuels has led to greenhouse effect and caused global warming. Also, cities are growing, natural areas are disappearing, water is used too much, and deserts are getting larger. These changes affect the Earth’ s physical structure.
Greta Thunberg, try to raise awareness about this problem. Their message is clear: we need a change that protects nature for the future.
In conclusion, technology will always change our world, but this change must also take environment into consideration. If the world is not inhabitable, technology is useless. Real change happens when humans respect and care for nature. Young people can inspire change, but everyone must take responsibility to protect our planet and ensure a sustainable future.
Environmental change affects not only nature but also animals, plants, and humans. Biodiversity is decreasing, natural habitats are disappearing, and climate problems are becoming worse. World leaders discuss these issues during international meetings. The Paris Agreement, which was enacted in 2016, aims to keep the global temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius. 175 countries signed this agreement, showing that the world needs awareness and change.
Will we act before it’ s too late?
However, people pay more attention to technology than they do to the environment. For example, technologies like artificial intelligence use billions of litres of water every year. Many people forget that water is limited. This shows how humans are changing nature through technology. Young activists, like
