How Technology and Life Experiences Change Us

In the past, phones were very simple devices. They were big, heavy, and usually stayed in one place. People used them only to make calls, and no one imagined how important phones would become in daily life. Later, mobile phones appeared and changed the way people communicated. They became smaller and easier to carry, and people could talk to their family and friends anywhere. Text messages made phones more personal, and soon everyone had their own phone. This is a good example of transformation, which happens when new inventions change how people live, work, and think. Just like phones, inventions such as the wheel, the printing press, electricity, and the internet made life easier and connected people around the world over time.
Transformation does not only happen with technology; it also happens in people. Many students believe that personality never changes and that we are born with it. However, psychologists say that personality can slowly develop through life experiences. Big events like starting a new school, changing jobs, or going through a breakup may feel very important, but studies show that they usually cause only small changes in personality. This is because personality changes slowly and is shaped by daily habits and repeated experiences over many years.
In rare cases, very serious events such as accidents or natural disasters can lead to bigger changes. Some people become more careful, more empathetic, or emotionally stronger after these experiences, which is called posttraumatic growth. Still, this does not happen to everyone. In conclusion, both technology and people change over time, but these changes usually happen gradually, not all at once.
