Transformation

Efe HASGÜL ‣
To me, transformation means more than just change. Change can happen quickly, even by chance. The transformation goes deeper. It is a process that changes the way we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Often it starts with discomfort and anxiety, but ends with growth. Transformation is more than just becoming a new person. It’ s about discovering strengths and values that have been hidden by fear and doubt. The moment that changed me was my first big failure at school. I have always been a good student, so I felt embarrassed and disappointed when I failed an important exam. At first, I took this assessment as proof that I wasn’ t as capable as I thought I was. I avoided talking about it and doubted my abilities. But after a while, I realized that this experience had taught me something important. I realized for the first time that success doesn’ t last forever and that intelligence alone is not enough. Discipline, resilience, and humility are equally important.
Rather than give up, I changed my approach. I have learned to manage my time better, ask for help when I need it, and study more consistently. More importantly, I changed my mindset. I stopped seeing failure as a reflection of my worth and started seeing it as feedback. This change in perspective not only changed my academic performance, but also my confidence. I became less afraid of trying because I knew that even if I failed, I could learn and improve.
Looking back, this experience changed my course. It taught me that change often begins with disappointment. Growth does not come from comfort. It comes from struggle. Since then, I have tried to embrace difficult times rather than avoid them. Transformation in my life means turning failure into a stepping stone and allowing hardship to transform me into a stronger, wiser person.
