The Dress

They wanted me to wear that dress , Told me it was the only way of success . I told them “ In other ways too I can impress ” But they told me it wasn ’ t ladylike to protest .

Now I ’ m sitting in my room , “ These are the obstacles I have to face with ” I try to assume . Why is it me who has to hide their fume , When they are so excited to put me in another costume .

It ’ s not easy to obstruct , The working way of social construct . Not to be mean but I really am not bucked , When all they want to do is to instruct .
