In today ’ s world , digitalization plays a significant role , by it being implemented on almost every platform possible , whether it is economic , cultural , political , or social . As non-human as digitalization may sound , one of the most important assets that it has to offer us , is making social interactions easier and hopefully more accessible and in lower costs .
Social media , can be the first aspect that comes to mind when you hear digitalization or “ digital citizenship ”. A digital citizen is a person using information from technology to engage in society , politics , and government . Digital citizens play a significant role in both the protection and invasion of privacy , which can be a serious question that comes to mind when communities of people are influenced by the effects of social media . Social media offers such assets to individuals whether it is the share of knowledge and spreading of ideas or even lives . However , it also is an instant invasion of privacy . Even if that is totally dependent on individuals ’ choice making , digital advocate groups such as NGO ’ s who use social media against particular events , or alternatively , people that caused or have a potential to cause harm to others ; do not abstain to confront these events by using social media as a tool to spread good will and prevent negativity from fostering .
Another great example is that , this particularly , so called horrific , ‘ invasion of privacy ’, has also led to many anonymous cyber or real-life bullies to be cancelled . The elites , as we call them , are people who have power and authority on societal systems , have the capability to enforce their will on others with the power they have , and generally dominate over
