Effects Of The Internet

Renas Hüseyiṅ SARI

In today ’ s world the internet is almost unavoidable and with its use come many changes to our daily lives . I would consider most of these changes to be positive but not all of them . For example ; because the internet requires looking at a screen for extended period of time , it might cause some physiological effects such as worsening the average person ’ s eyesight or shortening the average person ’ s attention span . However , in my opinion , the pros outweigh the cons . For example ; the internet allows people on the opposite sides of the planet to exchange information in the blink of an eye . This allows people in different countries to exchange cultural activities . This also makes joining social activities as easy as clicking a button . The internet also heavily benefits the economy . For example , the internet helps the average person to go shopping in the comfort of their own house . And the digitalisation of money prevents money from being lost and forgotten . The internet also allows people to talk to relatives and friends that live very far away from them . The internet also helps people to be more aware of what is happening in the world . But the internet also might make people feel powerless because of the realization that their existence changes almost nothing . But this realization might be a blessing in disguise because knowing that nothing you do matters can make people less worried about their actions . The internet also makes searching for information very easy . It also makes the lives of people with physical disabilities easier . Overall , the digitalisation of our lives brings many benefits but it also has many downsides . And I believe knowing both is beneficial in people ’ s lives .
