Horses in everyday life

Horses also played an important role in the everyday life of the Comanches. Every time a warrior wanted to marry a woman from the band, he had to present a steed to the woman’s family, in order to show appreciation and dedication. Family was very important in the Comanche society; it was a disgraceful act to hit a woman.
