Héroes invisibles

From that day on Katie's life changed, she was someone very admired by all the people across the planet, but she was still not satisfied, she still needed to find a cure for diabetes in order to save her mother.

Katie had learned that everything was possible, so she sat at her desk and continued to research for the cure for diabetes. It had been 4 days since she had found the cure for coronavirus, but still, she could not find a cure for diabetes. Katie tried hard for a long time and apparently she had found a cure, but she wasn't sure it would work, so she decided to try it on a patient at the hospital where she worked.

It had been 4 days since Katie had given the cure to her patient, Katie was already beginning to lose faith, she already believed that the cure would not work but suddenly Katie's patient called her and told her that she had gotten some tests done to see if she still had diabetes, and it turned out negative, Katie's patient had no diabetes!

Katie went to see her patient, see if what he was saying was true since she did not want to get her mother's hopes up by saying that it had worked, and then telling her that it hadn't done so. Indeed her patient no longer had diabetes, and Katie was the happiest person in the universe, she had finally achieved her lifelong dream; dream that she had had since she was 5 years old, and she couldn't be more proud of that. After proving that her cure did work, Katie decided to call her mom, but something strange happened, her mom was not answering.

10 minutes later Sandra (Katie's mother's best friend) called Katie, she was crying without consolation. Katie was worried and asked what had happened. Sandra sat for a few seconds and tried to breathe deeply, she said: "Katie your mom is dead" Katie's world collapsed, something inside her broke, and she could not bear so much pain. Katie collapsed, she fell to the floor and did not stop crying.

She could only remember how much she loved her mother, all the moments they had spent together, and all the circumstances they had gone through. From that day Katie did not go out, her emotions overwhelmed her and she felt lost, she found the cure for diabetes but could not save her mother, the person who mattered the most in her world.
