COOKING UP A CLASSIC FOODIE FEST
This year we introduce a new ‘ ingredient ’ to The Classic , our all-new Foodie Fest feature ! Foodie Fest brings family and friends together , serving-up a wide range of delicious festival food , sweet treats and drinks to enjoy together across the weekend .
Working alongside with Made in Northamptonshire , the Artisan Market is the place to be to browse and purchase a range of homemade delicacies produced in the local area . PLUS , we ’ re throwing into the mix live cooking demonstrations and Q & A sessions from # GBBO winner Candice Brown , TV Chef Lesley Waters , and blogger Niall Kirkland from “ The Good Bite ”. Silverstone ’ s very own Executive chef , Dean Hoddle-Smith , is also joining the line-up , as well as local chefs Natasha AKA “ The Loving Chef ” and Godfrey Barton from “ Shires Country Kitchen ”.
There ’ s also the chance for you to book into the Testing Tent , to sample some of your favourite tipples from BrewDog , Brompton Wine and Serengeti Spirits .

ANNIVERSARIES
This summer , The Classic is proudly celebrating the milestones of many iconic and historic car clubs and models from across the car club community . The 2022 celebrations are led by the Diamond anniversaries of the legendary AC Cobra and Lotus Elan , alongside the UK ’ s most passionate car clubs joining in to celebrate .
Its 60 years since Le Mans winning Texan racing driver Carroll Shelby famously modified the Thames Ditton built AC Ace to accept a mighty 4.7-litre Ford V8 creating one of the world ’ s all-time greatest classic sportscars . The muscular , big-hearted , fire-breathing AC Cobra was an instant success capturing the hearts of enthusiasts right around the globe and further inspiring a flattering raft of look-a-likes .
The Cobra ’ s Diamond anniversary is being honoured by a number of clubs attending The Classic including The Cobra Register , 289 Register and Cobra Replica Club UK .
Showcasing the Anglo-American favourite ’ s full history , The Cobra Register will have a full time-line of Cobras on its stand ranging from an AC Ace right up to the AC Mk . IV and close to a hundred models for all eras are already confirmed for a rumbling track parade at lunchtime on Saturday .
In comparison to the burly Cobra , the little Lotus Elan – also born in 1962 – looks like a featherweight , but what the Elan lacks in brawn it more than makes up in brains . Embodying the minimum weight philosophy of its creator Colin Chapman , the little Lotus rewrote the record book in terms of extraordinary handling and tenacious roadholding .
Paying tribute to Chapman ’ s genius , the Club Lotus and Lotus Drivers Club will be parading more than 60 Elans on the Silverstone Grand Prix track on Saturday .
BMW ’ s renowned sporty M division is marking its 50th anniversary in 2022 and , appropriately , the BMW Car Club GB will have 50 of its greatest creations on parade on Sunday . Out on the track , BMW M3s will be renewing their epic rivalries with Ford RS500s in Saturday morning ’ s Tony Dron Memorial Trophy for MRL Historic Touring Cars .
The Cobra , Elan and M-Sport anniversaries are just three of more than 30 being celebrated at The Classic . Others include the Austin Healey 100 , Ford Cortina , McLaren F1 , Mercedes S Class , MGB , Porsche 944 , Renault 5 , Triumph Spitfire , and TVR .
