tourism and public entertainment; provision of eco-tourism
accommodation establishments along the environmentally
sensitive coastline; and development of a yacht club and
mooring facilities at the Orange River.
The Oranjemund Town Council herewith invites interested
investors to submit an expression of interest for the
development of an upmarket, low-key, low-density Marina
neighbourhood development in Oranjemund.
The draft concept layout calls for the development of a low-
density single residential neighbourhood and a marina where
boats/yachts can enter the marina from the Orange River. In
addition, a tourism establishment in the form of a hotel with
some low-key bungalows and a clay-camping and overnight
camp site is to be provided.
The general idea with the Marina Development is for an
upmarket development in Oranjemund that must focus on the
following key components: Development of a low-key, low-
density, environmentally friendly, residential development
where residential properties have direct access onto the
marina, and upgrading of the lagoon area at the yacht club for

Regional transmission development project
Project: Institutional, power grid
Client: Electricity of Mozambique (EDM)
Location: Mozambique
Phase 2: Supervision of the construction and
management of contracts.
• Phase 3: Assistance during the project warranty period.
While the intention is to contract the engineering consulting
services for the three phases, contracting will initially be for
Phase 1, with the option for the customer to issue additional
contracts for Phases 2 and 3 on the basis of pre-agreed and
contract prices for Phase 1. EDM hereby invites eligible
consulting firms to express their interest in providing the
services for the project.
The government of Mozambique received funds from the
government of Norway in the form of a trust fund under the
World Bank’s management to finance the development of the
Mozambique Regional Transmission Project and intends to
apply part of the funds to finance the contracting of consulting
services in engineering.
Electricity of Mozambique (EDM) plans to build a
high-voltage alternating current (AC) line from Temane
via Vilanculos to Maputo (The Project) to connect the
400MW Temane gas power plant. The project consists of
the construction of: (a) two transmission lines at 400kV,
approximately 25km each, between Temane and Vilanculos;
(b) a transmission line at 400kV, approximately 560km
long between Vilanculos and Maputo; (c) a 400/110kV
substation in Vilanculos; (d) a 400/275kV substation in
Chibuto; (e) a 400/275kV substation in Matalane; (f)
extension of the 400/275kV substation in Maputo; and
(g) associated activities (for example control, protection,
communications).
The engineering consulting services will be divided into
three phases:
• Phase 1: Review of the conceptual design of the project,
preparation of the contracting plan, preparation of the
project schedule, launching of tenders, and contracting
for the project.
•
Vilanculos is set to be a hub for the high-voltage AC line.
