LaNon’s Almond Pies

L

aNon was my great-grandmother, who migrated to Australia from Molfetta,
Italy. These pies were one of several recipes that has been handed down
through the Salvemini family for generations (May is my married name).

I have made some slight adjustments to the recipe around the filling to pastry ratio
as we prefer slightly more jam and filling than the original recipe states! The recipe
has also been downsized as the original recipe made about 150 pies and used to
take several hours!
