The Panthers seemed as if they would be too much to handle for Peyton Manning and his team but that wasn't the case. Over the two weeks before Super Bowl 50, the media and fans were constantly asking Cam Newton if the game would be a challenge or if he expects to win. I believe that all the attention got to the Panthers, especially Newton, causing them to play tense and not allowing for the full potential.
Another cause of the Panthers failure to pull home the Super Bowl was the strong defense of Denver. The Broncos defense had dominated all year with Von
Miller and Aqib Talib being two very important roles in the Denver Broncos secondary. The defense all together dominated the previous Super Bowl champs, the New England Patriots. Even though the defense was on fire, no one thought that it could have been enough for Cam Newton and his offense who had been on a roll since week one of the season. Cam Newton had the ball stripped right out of his hands and it was recovered by the Broncos for a touchdown. This was just one of Cam Newton’s many mistakes that night.
