THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER 5 September 2019 Niners By MARY FIEWEGER A number of Niners went to the new Knight Cancer Insti- tute which opened in September 2018. We were given a personal FIEWEGER tour of the Institute by Lisa Nolen, devel- opment officer at OHSU. Lisa will be speaking at the Pink Ball luncheon to share the latest news in cancer re- search. We donate 100% of proceeds to OHSU for cancer research. The Pink Ball sign-up book is now in the clubroom in the Pro Shop. Quite a few registrations for both golf and lunch have already been made. Don’t get put on the wait list! Michael Allen Harrison will be performing on the piano prior to lunch. We have bag piper George Cole- man coming at 8:30 a.m. We will have a moment of silence around the tee box signs next to the Pro Shop honoring those we have lost to cancer and/or who are fighting cancer. Have not done your tee box signs for 2019? Sign-up sheets are in the club- room. A beautiful way to honor a fami- ly member and/or friend. Signs can al- so say, “We support Cancer Research.” Lots of great oral and silent auction items! The Oregon Garden Resort package includes the use of a Masareti for 24 hours. Have fun getting there and back! Motor through Charbonneau before heading there! Items include a week at the Pueblo Bonito Resort, Ca- bo, from Penny and Alan Kirk, Blazer tickets and dinner from Bill and Dottie Schonley, and several local winery events to include catering (appetizers and desserts).
