Take the right steps: fall prevention Fall prevention strategies can help reduce the number of accidental falls suffered by older people. Falls and fall-related injuries are among the most serious and common medical problems experienced by older adults. Nearly one-third of older people fall each year, and half of them fall more than once. If you have fallen, or if you have a fear of falling, this workshop is for you! The free seminar will take place on Monday, Sept.16 from 12:45- 2 p.m. at the Wilsonville Community Center. There is no charge but please call 503-570-1526 to pre-register. Attending a diabetes support group is a proactive way to find support, help, tips, tools and can be part of an integrated approach to diabetes management. Learn how to ride SMART and TriMet to Washington Square Mall Join RideWise, your local travel training program, for a two-day class to learn more about using public tran- sit in Wilsonville and beyond. The first class will cover fares, trip plan- ning, accessibility and more. The sec- ond class will put the new knowledge to the test as participants head out to ride SMART and WES for coffee and a quick adventure before returning to Wilsonville (purchase own coffee/ an update on the City’s progress toward replacing the vacant seat on City Coun- cil. During the work session prior to the meeting, city staff presented a draft of a housing market research report to guide ongoing work to develop an Equitable Housing Strategic Plan.
