Spring Into Fashion
The CWA Fashion Show planning
committee is very excited about all
their plans for this year’s event. Our
models met with associates from Soft
Surroundings for the
fittings and we hope
to share a few photos
next month, following
the show. The
“Spring Into Fashion”
event is again a
sellout for May 13. If
you are interested in adding your
name to the waitlist, contact Lindy
Anderson at andersonlindy@

We hope you enjoy the
continuation of this year’s interesting
stories of our spring fashion models:

Charbonneau.
How my life has changed since
moving to Charbonneau: Our yard
work takes minutes instead of hours.
We can walk right out the door and
enjoy several different walking routes
through the neighborhoods and we
have met a lot of very friendly people.
We only had one neighbor when we
lived in the country.
Interesting fact(s) about me: My
father taught me to fly when I was 17.
My profession before: I’ve enjoyed
a career in residential real estate for
over 40 years and I’m still working.

Why I moved to Charbonneau: I’ve Why I moved to Charbonneau: I’m
originally from Salem. Grew up there
until leaving for college. When it
came time to decide where to retire, it
was Cleveland or here. Not a tough
choice — and my folks were becoming
more fragile, needing our help.
lived in Wilsonville most of my life
and my husband and I knew that
when living on acreage got to be too
much of a chore, this is where we
would land. That became a reality last
year when we sold our farm on here to retire in 2005. Joe has, I
haven’t. Hope to soon. I’m gradually
resigning from all those city boards —
still can’t say no to boards in

Charbonneau. Our life is full and
fabulous here! We love our neighbors
and all our new friends.
Interesting fact(s) about me: I’m a
closet nerd but discovered a creative
side and I love to travel. I’ve learned
how to hang glide, skydive, studied to
be a pilot, flew on the Concorde, had
an audience with John Paul II, the
Polish Pope (my husband Joe is 100%
Polish), have survived several bouts
of cancer, and built a “she shed” in my
backyard. Most important, I’m a
proud step-mom to four and gramma
to three and have been married to my
handsome husband for 32 years. So
very glad we met each other after we
both lost our first spouses to illness.
My profession before: With a
masters in organizational
development, I spent 20 years with
large corporations, first hiring
employees all over the world and
then as communications director; five
years with my own executive search
firm; 22 years with my own web
development and design firm.
enjoy my new passion: photography.

Why I moved to Charbonneau:
After our youngest finished college,
we wanted to downsize, but be near
Portland for its great music and
dancing. Charbonneau was perfect.
How my life has changed since
moving to Charbonneau: We sold our
dental practice five and a half years
ago, so our lives have changed
dramatically since retirement.
Charbonneau proved to be the right
place for us for retirement, as we
knew it would.
Interesting fact(s) about me: I took
up watercolor painting last
September and am thoroughly
enjoying my new creative outlet. I
was the featured artist here at the
clubhouse in February.
My profession before: After 26
years as a registered nurse in the
operating room, I left to manage my
husband’s dental practice for the last
17 years of my career.

Why I moved to Charbonneau:
When we sold our home in Sunriver
to move back to the Portland area, we
quickly discovered the quiet beauty of
Charbonneau. Luckily, we found our
current home and love living on the
golf course.
How my life has changed since
moving to Charbonneau: We are
much more involved with our
neighborhood and Wilsonville
activities.
Interesting fact(s) about me: I am
Canadian with dual citizenship and
moved from Canada with my family
