Charbonneau’s Solo
Sisters sizzle this summer
C
harbonneau’s Solo Sis-
ters have a lot to cele-
brate as we swing into
summer.
In the first six months of the year,
since reorganizing the Singles Group
into Solo Sisters, we are thrilled that
Charbonneau
Women’s
Association
we have added a dozen new members
to our group. Some of the ladies are
new residents of Charbonneau and
others are newly single ladies, looking
for single friends with similar inter-
ests. We welcome all single women,
living in Charbonneau, who are look-
ing for a group of fun and inspiring so-
los like themselves.
In June we enjoyed two events.
Our regular monthly happy hour
was held at Stanford’s in Lake Os-
wego and was very well attended.
As people return from their winter
retreats, we are welcoming more
and more of them at our happy hour
events. We also held our second an- nual Games Night in the CCC club-
house. First we enjoyed grazing at a
potluck apps and dessert buffet,
washed down with our favorite bev-
erages. Then we broke into groups
and played some rousing games of
Chicken Foot, under the guidance of
Deanna Morgan, and Black Jack
with Karen Giardino as the dealer.
Candy Ferguson and Robyn Andrus
taught some newcomers how to play
Pitch with the hope that they will
join the Pitch games played monthly
at The Turn this winter.
Lissa Willis is enjoying continued
success leading her Solo Sisters
Lunch Safari’s. In June she took a group to lunch at Gracie’s in Port-
land’s Hotel deluxe. And in July a
small group of women will accompa-
ny Lissa to lunch at LeChon, a res-
taurant with South American cuisine
“with a Pacific Northwest twist,” ac-
cording to our dining expert.
Other events being planned in-
clude a possible trip to Spirit Moun-
tain Casino and a wine tasting party.
So if you are a single woman living in
Charbonneau and would like to join
our group, please contact Deanna
Morgan at deannamorgan@gmail.
com and come join in the fun. It
promises to be a sizzling summer!
What’s new for your
CWA though there are no luncheons dur-
ing the summer months, your CWA
Board has been hard at work getting
ready for the 2019-2020 season. Our
first gathering in September will
have a Hawaiian theme; more infor-
mation to come. Don’t forget to stop
by our table at the Community In-
formation Day on Tuesday, Aug. 20,
to get up-to-date program informa- tion and pay your annual dues.
Summer is such a
wonderful time: out-
door gatherings,
weddings, gradua-

tions, trips to all
sorts of places, or
perhaps, just sitting on the patio en-
joying the plants and flowers. Al-

1. Do a thorough cleaning Inside and Out.
2. Pack up all personal decorations
without making rooms look barren.
3. Scale Back on Your Furniture. Rooms
will look larger increasing perceived
value.
4. Highlight the fl ow of rooms by
arranging the furniture to guide buyers
from one room to another.
5. Use warm, neutral-color for walls and
accessorize with vibrant colors. High-
wattage bulbs in your light fi xtures will
brighten up rooms.
6. Set the Scene by creating vignettes.
7. Make the Entrance Grand with a pot of
fl owers, freshly painted front door, a new
doormat and a seasonal wreath.
The next time you are considering a move,
I’d be honored to guide you through this
important process.
