April 2018
Charbonneau Women's Golf Association
CWGA
Cathi McLain,
Co-President
April is finally here, signaling
the start of our 2018 Charbon-
neau Women’s Golf Associa-
tion (CWGA) season. It is also
the month in which we celebrate
Earth Day. We celebrate the skills
of Danny Vandecoevering and
the maintenance staff for their en-
vironmental stewardship as they
maintain our “backyards” with
such skill and care so that every
golf experience is a testament to
“Earth-Day-Everyday.”
Our Season Begins!
Our 2018 season begins with
more than a dozen new members!
The first CWA Board of Directors
meeting is scheduled for Wednes-
day, April 4 at 9 am in the Char-
bonneau Country Club Lounge.
All members are welcome and
encouraged to attend the month-
ly meetings. Our first Play Day
is the next day, April 5. Be sure
to sign up in the Club Room to
assure a spot. Remember, if the
weather is bad or you are unable
to play for any reason, please
contact the Pro Shop to cancel.
Don’t just assume it doesn’t mat-
ter. Cancellations mean that four-
somes may need to be adjusted;
and if they’re not alerted, the Pro
Shop has no way of knowing they
need to make adjustments.
CWGA’S monthly winter lun-
cheons, coordinated by Janet
Ferguson and Linda Owen,
have been a wonderful success.
We have taken over The Turn to
get together with fellow CWGA
members for informal lunches in
January, February and March. It’s
been a great opportunity to get
acquainted with new members so
that by the time we start play we’ll
already be old friends!
New Co-Treasurers
Kudos to Judy Wilcox and
Debbie Bray for stepping for-
ward to take on the job of trea-
surer, replacing Judy Lawrence
who resigned due to a longer-
than-expected time away from
Charbonneau. Judy and Deb-
bie will provide back up to each
other during vacations and other
absences. Taking on a big job
with a co-chair is the perfect so-
lution to volunteering as part of
our busy lives. We hope others
will consider taking on the job of
vice president or communications
chair with a friend to share the du-
ties. Kathy Harp and I are enjoy-
ing working together as co-pres-
idents. I hope to have someone
to co-president with me next year
after serving as vice president this
year. Please don’t hesitate to ask
questions before coming forward.
We welcome all comers and need
your expertise.
