It also allows the customer to trust a company, which nowadays is crucial as so many big companies like Spanghero have acted non-ethical towards the environment or society and became untrustworthy. Indeed Spanghero betrayed their customers by putting horsemeat instead of beef in their frozen and canned products (Core, 2013). That loss of trust can be fatal to a company as the customer will have many difficulties to come back to the same company who betrayed him. This trust is crucial to the companies as it will make the customer loyal towards it’s brand. (Core, 2013)

Other companies like Easyjet base their network on the idea of trust. Indeed,

On Easyjet website the company does not only offer the flight but also many hotels, car rental companies, tickets for transport and attractions near the chosen destination (EasyJet, n.d.). This allows the company to create a small discount on all these offers and allows the customer to think that they can trust Easyjet partners as they trust Easyjet. This encourages a long-term relationship marketing based on the consumer need of small prices and his ability to trust the whole network of the company (Easyjet, 2011).
