Solid Season for Catamount Soccer
The St. Johnsbury Catamount soccer team had a decent season, which
ended with a bang: a 7-1 victory at
Blue Mountain Union (BMU), which
featured a hat trick by Brandon D. and
multiple assists from Jacob B. and
Daegan I. There were a lot of players
this year - we had 21 girls and 16
boys – which was the first year to include 6th graders.
The Catamounts had four different
team configurations this year: one
boys and one girls, and then two coed
teams, Red and White, for playing
other coed teams. The boys team
finished 3-2, while the girls were 0-5.
Coed Red was 0-2, while White finished 2-0. All teams were coached by

skills, but, most importantly, you learn
what it means to be part of a team.
Our teams play Vermont teams like
Barnet, BMU, Concord and Danville,
and also New Hampshire teams like
Haverhill and Monroe. My favorite
game of the season was a home
game against BMU – not because we
won 8-0, but because of the way we
played.
This particular game was 6 vs. 6
instead of the normal 11 vs. 11. This
was extra fun because it was still a full
field and involved a bit more running
and more overall action, so I got to
play some offense for a change.
