Each year, members of the Scott & White Healthcare Cornerstone Society attend a luncheon, and receive a well-deserved thank-you from Scott & White for the planned gifts they have made to the healthcare system. This year’s event, at the Temple Hilton Garden Inn, hosted James Rohack, MD, chief health policy officer at Baylor Scott & White Health, as the featured speaker. Why we give Perry “Bud” and Margaret Inhofe, of South Padre Island, attended the Cornerstone Society luncheon in May. They have created a charitable gift annuity to the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation. Perry “Bud” and Margaret Inhofe are grateful for their 44-year relationship with Scott & White. “ e give to Scott & White because we have been coming here for our W healthcare since 1970. Even when we lived in Oklahoma, we would drive here to see our doctors. We have always received great care here.” —Mr. Inhofe Doreen Grimes Estate Gift The Scott & White Healthcare Foundation has received a $3.2 million gift from the estate of Doreen Grimes, PhD, in honor of Charles Capen, MD, director of gynecology and chief of gynecologic surgery, for the life-changing care she received from him and all her caregivers. The gift creates the Grimes Family Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Doreen Grimes Research Awards Endowment, and the Grimes Family Musical Garden. Dr. Grimes taught music at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, for almost 30 years.
