PLANNED GIVING WITH THE SCOTT & WHITE HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION never too early to begin thinking about your charitable legacy and to realize a return far greater than you may have imagined. Establishing a planned gift through the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation can benefit both the donor and Scott & White, by creating a shared legacy of providing healthcare excellence, both now and in the future. The planned giving program at Scott & White accepts contributions, including cash gifts, real estate, and other assets, by using a variety of planned giving methods It’s through an individual’s estate planning. Tangible donor benefits often include guaranteed income and tax deductions, depending on the type of planned gift vehicle utilized. Individuals also benefit through knowing that their gifts will help people locally, for years to come. The planned giving program is essential for Scott & White to sustain the delivery of high-quality healthcare. Anyone who’s passionate about Scott & White and wants to positively influence healthcare delivery has a variety of options to choose from in the program. “Planned giving offers a lot of flexibility for people who have philanthropic intentions, including the option to give gifts besides cash,” says Brian Harrison, director of planned giving at the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation. “We welcome and appreciate planned gifts of all kinds and work closely with donors of all ages to learn more about their needs and to ensure the planned gift is structured in a way to meet them,” says Mr. Harrison. They involve cash or stock transfers, whereupon donors are able to receive fixed income for life, a portion of which may be tax-free. The donor will also receive a current tax deduction for the portion of the gift annuity that is considered the charitable gift. People are setting up wills earlier than ever; no longer is this the domain of the soon-to-be-retired population. Anyone with assets can set up a will or a bequest, and more people age 40 and younger are doing so. Charitable bequests are one of the easiest gifts to make and are a popular way to create a lasting gift to Scott & White Healthcare. Retirement assets You may make a gift from your pension, IRA, 401(k) or 403(b), or other tax-deferred plan by simply naming the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation as the beneficiary. There are many additional planned giving options available. Please contact the Scott & White Healthcare Foundation to find out which options will best fit your needs.
