DEFINING A DECADE
6 ) Finding talent
The next ten years have the potential to be the most revolutionary in living memory
7 ) No ' out of office '
Finding the right employees has always been challenging but never more so than now , particularly in certain sectors . Ethics , purpose and giving back have become more important to those seeking a fulfilling career .
Voice : Peter Jones
Peter Jones is Director of HR Dept Swindon and North Wiltshire .
“ Back in 2013 , we were a relatively small business , working exclusively in and around Swindon . We launched our London arm in 2014 and over the past eight years have seen massive expansion in client numbers . We have also significantly grown our team .
“ Clients are now demanding more than reactive HR advice which was our bread and butter in the early 2010s . There haven ’ t been many big changes to employment law . However , working practices have evolved since Covid , with more emphasis on hybrid working and flexible working practices .
“ The next ten years have the potential to be the most revolutionary in living memory with the introduction of AI into everyday working practice . We will be keeping ahead of trends to ensure our clients are able to access the best knowledge and support as the workplace transforms .”

In business , time has become more valuable
Being so connected means it ’ s hard to switch off . This can mean the world is a smaller place and many business owners can work with people globally . However it can also lead to problems around staff wellbeing , mental health and worklife balance .
Voice : Jan de Jonge
In 2013 , psychologist Jan P De Jonge ’ s business , People Business Psychology , based in the Marlborough area , was a year old .
“ Our business and lives , like society , is moving further towards digitalisation and the recognition that people have increasingly shorter time spans . Clients expect short-burst often visual content , that conveys the emotive content much quicker than words do . In business , time has become more valuable .
“ Our work has become much more international . On any one day , I might meet online with an IT provider in India in the early morning , have a coffee with a contact nearer to home in Wiltshire , to then speak with a person from a client organisation online in North or South America in the evening .”

8 ) The rise of the start up and side hustle
Digital transformation over the last decade has created new entrepreneurs . People don ’ t have to rely on big investment or support from established companies to build a brand . Consider the rise of the influencer and those entertainers who have entered the mainstream sharing their talent online eg . Ed Sheeran , Sam Ryder . This is about the power of an audience . that ’ s happened is the advancement of AI and intuitive productivity tools like Notion . Streamlining processes and having an online main brain is a godsend !”
I think without a doubt the most game changing thing that ' s happened is the advancement of AI

“ I think without a doubt the most game changing thing
