New hotel opens its
doors this Autumn
Accor Hotels is investing in Swindon with a new
Ibis Budget Hotel opening on Henry Street,
near the train station this October.

The hotel will be located at the gateway to
the town centre and is expected to create up
to 25 jobs, on top of the hotel franchisee’s
existing commitment to the town, employing
30 people at the Holiday Inn Express
Swindon City Centre. Similarly, due to
complete a multi-million pound renovation
before the turn of the year.
The opening of the Ibis Budget Hotel will
provide an extra 73 affordable rooms.
The hotel will offer free wi-fi throughout
and the reception will be open 24/7 making
it ideal for people on the move.
All rooms are furnished with an en-suite
shower room and flat-screen TV.
There’s a good value breakfast in the
morning and snacks and drinks available at
any time.
There will also be a café/bar opening
as part of the hotel’s offering. This will be
open to the public and people are invited to
use the space for informal meetings and
independent study.
Once open Swindon’s Ibis Budget Hotel
will boast on-site parking, as well as being
only 6-minutes walk away from the train
station.

Brothers Clock Makers shop in Regent St
(now Ernest Jones). We always intended to
show support for a local good cause.”
Brighter Futures is best known for its
£3m radiotherapy appeal in recent years
however it was actually established back in
1995 and was re-branded to its new name
five years ago. Over its 24 year history, it’s
raised millions for the local NHS.
Catherine Newman, associate director
of fundraising, said, “We are absolutely
delighted that Hype Agency has come to
us and, for their first year in the town, are
holding a benefit night for us. We will be
excited to come along on the night and
meet everyone.

A Fairytale in New York is the festive theme
for an inaugural Christmas party experience
coming to the MECA in Swindon – with one
event raising funds for the Brighter Futures
charity.
The festive party on Thursday 12th
December is dedicated to the charity which
supports projects throughout the Great
Western Hospital and community health
sites in Swindon.
Hype Agency is the company behind
the Fairytale in New York Christmas
experience with party events running in the
town between Monday 9th December and
Sunday 15th December. Ticket prices start
from £42 plus VAT. The Thursday night
event will see fundraising for Brighter
Futures including a donation from each
ticket sale.
Pete Cottell, Senior Marketing Executive
who has family connections to Swindon,
said, “At Hype we believe in giving back and
supporting the Brighter Futures project
as part of our 2019 fundraising. I have

hospital environment, fund research,
support the development and training
of staff and provide state-of-the-art
equipment and facilities not normally

The Hype team hopes groups and
business teams will join them in December
