Celebrating ten years of Queens Square
Wealth Management Ltd
This year Corsham-based Queens Square Wealth
Management is celebrating ten years in business.
Founded by Gemma Young in 2009, the
business is a Senior Partner Practice of
St. James’s Place Wealth Management.
Situated on Corsham high street, the
Practice is bucking the national trend, using
its high street location to build relationships
with the community and new enquiring
clients. Where many banks and traditional
high street businesses are closing, Queens
Square Wealth Management is thriving,
having more than doubled in size since
committing to the space in 2017.
Gemma has taken risks and gone
against the grain from day one. Amongst
the backdrop of one of the worst global
economic conditions in 2009, she took the
plunge and decided to accept a redundancy
package from her then employer, Coutts &
Co in London and set up Queens Square.
Gemma decided to join with St. James’s
Place Wealth Management because of
their distinctive investment management
approach, using best of breed fund
managers and the advice guarantee* they
provide to clients.
Gemma said, “I wanted to create a
wealth management solution that put the
client and their family at the very core of the
relationship. I believe it’s our very personal
service that has helped us succeed. Our
business is built around family. My husband
Mark, works alongside me as Director, and
we have two children who we are working
hard to build a strong financial future for too.
Trust, transparency and communication is at
the heart of everything we do. Building long-
term relationships that last decades.”
Earlier this year, Queens Square Wealth
Management was awarded the prestigious
Chartered Financial Planning Status, the
gold standard for financial planning and
only awarded to firms which meet rigorous
criteria relating to the highest level of
professional qualifications and good ethical
practice. Gemma said, “I’m really proud of
the achievements of the team and being
at the forefront of highly qualified financial
advice.”
The Practice doesn’t offer “off the shelf”
solutions, but writes bespoke financial
plans for its clients, helping them to achieve
their goals personally, professionally and
for their families. These plans are regularly
reviewed through client meetings as both
client circumstances change, along with the
political economic climate.
Over the last ten years Queens Square
has grown from just Gemma and her PA
Hannah, to a team of ten. The business has
been built steadily, introducing new people
that have the same values, putting the client
at the centre of everything they do.
Working alongside Gemma as a
Chartered Financial Planner is Kelly Mills,
she joined Queens Square in the summer of
2018 as an adviser and brings to the Practice
a wealth of experience having worked for
St. James’s Place for the last 13 years,
latterly within the Private Client team
designing advice solutions. She is also
a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance
Institute (CII) and holds a Masters in Wealth
Management.
Joshua Harding-Wyatt also works in
the Financial Planning team as a Financial
Planner. He has worked in financial services
for the last 12 years, previously working
for Axa, Ascentric and another small IFA
Practice. After achieving his Diploma in
Financial Planning, he has continued to
study with the CII, and is looking to be a
Chartered Financial Adviser before the year
is out.

Gemma added,“Being part of the

community is an important part of Queens
Square Wealth Management. Our ambition
is to continue our growth within the local
area building on our successes so far and
providing the much-needed face-to-face
advice on the high street, as more and more
banks close their doors. We’re looking
forward to the next ten years and the
challenges they bring.”
