CONNECT South West Business & Community Award Winners Announced On Thursday January 18, 2018 Great British Expos hosted their inaugral South West Business & Community Awards. The event took place at the Doubletree by Hilton Swindon and celebrated businesses, charities and individuals for their achievements. More than 80 were shortlisted, including a number from Swindon and Wiltshire On the judging panel was The Business Exchange managing editor Anita Jaynes, James Phipps from Swindon’s Excalibur Communications and Julianne Ponan, owner and CEO of Creative Nature and winner of many national business and female entrepreneur awards. The evening was compèred by Alison Edgar, The Entrepreneur’s Godmother and owner of Sales Coaching Solutions. All proceeds from the awards were donated to three chosen charities, Prostate Cancer UK, Cherishers and Swindon 105.5 community radio station. All of the winners on stage with Denise O’Leary, front left, owner of Purpol Marketing winner of the Business of the Year Award and Alison Edgar, The Entrepreneur’s Godmother, front right, who compered the evening. Inner Flame and the Jessie May Trust were joint winners of the Charity of the Year Award. Total Guide To Swindon’s Matt presented the award. Outstanding Contribution to the Community - Swindon 105.5 Lifetime Achievement Award - Paul Hurt (teacher) Charity of the Year - Joint winners Inner Flame and Jessie May Trust Leisure & Tourism Award - STEAM Museum Systemagic won SME of the Year and collected their award from sponsor, Route PR.
