Business against Poverty ( BaP ) is a local community of business people who care about the issues of poverty and ethical standards . They are taking action through their charity People against Poverty , based in Melksham . Each edition of TBE we profile one of their members to find out more about them . This edition we find out more about Triangle Design .

Triangle Design , based at Bristol and Bath Science Park , is a platinum sponsor of Business against Poverty .
Managing director Jules English and her team work with well-known names such as Lego , Toys R Us and Chicco helping to make their brands come to life .
Since becoming members , Triangle Design have helped the charity in many ways . Most recently , People against Poverty used their expertise to help create their Family Partnership programme leaflet . It features a case study of a family they have been working with for the past few years and tells the story in a succinct and fun animation .
People against Poverty run two awareness trips to Romania each year , giving members

and prospective members the opportunity to see first-hand the projects they are working on and where the funding goes . Earlier this year Jules accompanied CEO of People against Poverty , Val Huxley , on one of the trips . Following the visit , Jules was driven to do something , and she and her family personally donated to a Sanctuary House build for a family she met whilst in Romania .
Corporate Social Responsibility and giving back is at the heart of Triangle Design . They are big believers in businesses using their influence to make a positive difference . People against Poverty were overwhelmed when they approached them this year , telling them they had been chosen as one of four charities to receive 1 % of their annual turnover .

25 YEARS OF THE YOUTH ADVENTURE TRUST
The Youth Adventure Trust is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year . Since they began , the Trust has helped over 3,800 vulnerable and disadvantaged young people from Swindon and Wiltshire by providing more than 27,000 activity days . Louise Bird , director of fundraising said :“ We are really proud of what we ’ ve achieved , but equally know that there is no way we could have achieved it without the help of our volunteers , who collectively give over 7,250 hours each year to help out residential camps and activity days .
“ We are celebrating our 25th anniversary as a milestone , but rather than reflecting on what we have achieved already , we are focused on our aspirations for the next 25 years . This year we are launching ambitious plans to double the number of vulnerable young people we work with , as well as introduce a mentoring and bursary scheme .
“ We would really love the Swindon and Wiltshire business community to get involved with us and join us on our journey to help even more young people in our community .”

Desert Expedition- November 2017 The Namibian Desert Expedition is an amazing opportunity to experience the wild as never before and test your personal limits . You will scale Namibia ’ s highest mountain before trekking across the Namib Desert until you reach the Skeleton Coast . From there you will climb the world ’ s highest sand dune , Dune 7 . This is the adventure of a lifetime .
Team 25 To celebrate The Youth Adventure Trust ’ s 25th Anniversary they are looking for 25 intrepid individuals to take on a personal challenge and raise some money to help vulnerable young people climb their own personal mountains . Run a marathon ,
do an endurance bike ride , swim the oceans or take to the air - do whatever you fancy and Youth Adventure Trust will support you every step of the way .
