WILTSHIRE AWARDS
2016
The Enterprising Wiltshire Awards took place
on Friday March 18 at Bowood House, Calne.
Sponsored by Wiltshire Council and hosted
by Inspire the award scheme recognises and
celebrates the successes of local business and
diversity of industries in the county.
SMARTech Energy were the big
winners on the night scooping
two awards, Green Business of the
Year, sponsored by Giant Peach and
Business of the Year 2016, sponsored
by Wiltshire Council. SMARTech is an
energy management and reduction
specialist working with businesses
locally helping to reduce their energy
bills. Founded by Stuart Pearce 22
months ago, the firm has identified
thousands of pounds worth of
savings for local companies.
Starting out with just Stuart as an
employee, there is now a team of
five and they are looking to recruit six
more people in the next few months
to complement the launch of a new
service.
On winning the awards Stuart
said: “Wow. What a surprise. I’m
thrilled to have been recognised
in not one, but two categories. I
think the key to our success is that
we take a holistic view of energy
management and that sets us apart
from the competition. We have
also established key partnerships,
that have been instrumental in our
growth.”

Economic Development said:

stood out as a key player in their
field having a hands on approach
to delivering green solutions to
businesses. This company helps
businesses of all sizes create more
energy efficient workplaces thus
saving money and also ensuring a
reduction in their carbon footprint.
They not only create energy reports
and offer advice, but provides
practical solutions to ensure energy
efficiency becomes an everyday part
of business.”

of Giant Peach added: "SMARTech

only the Green Business of the Year
award but also the Wiltshire Business
of the Year award. It is inspiring to
see a local innovative company lead
by example of how a business can
use their expertise to inspire others to
become more sustainable."
