TRUESPEED INVEST £ 22M INTO SOUTH WEST FULL FIBRE ROLLOUT
Bath-based Truespeed has announced a £ 22 million investment across multiple South West locations including Bath , North Somerset and South Gloucestershire , as it continues to accelerate the rollout of its ultrafast full fibre broadband throughout the region .
Truespeed has added 12 new areas to its full fibre rollout plan . In Bath , Truespeed is expanding its footprint in Bathwick , Widcombe and Combe Down . The firm is also adding Uphill , Banwell and Sandford to the North Somerset areas it serves . And , for the first time , Truespeed is expanding its network to the South Gloucestershire areas of Thornbury , Almondsbury , Bradley Stoke , Patchway , Stoke Gifford and Chipping Sodbury .
Improving connectivity throughout the South West , Truespeed ’ s latest investment is set to bring guaranteed speed , ultrafast and ultra-reliable broadband to a further 43,000 properties across the region . Thanks to its full fibre technology , Truespeed delivers guaranteed , symmetrical upload and download speeds of up to 900Mbps for residential customers and 10Gbps for business users . Priding itself on being a customer-centric provider , Truespeed has frozen its prices until May 2023 , offers a 30-day money back guarantee and has a Bath-based call centre that aims to answer calls within 30 seconds .
Planning and building works are well
underway and Truespeed ’ s build model ensures that customers can be connected to its service as building progresses throughout 2023 . In line with its network expansion , Truespeed has scaled up its operations and now employs over 200 people directly in the local area alongside creating additional work for its contractor partners .

City on the up as a vibrant tech hub , says mayor
The Mayor of Bath , Councillor Rob Appleyard , has said a US software firm ’ s investment in new Bath offices “ proves there is no holding back the city ’ s vibrant business community .”
The Mayor predicted a bright future for Bath as a tech-driven hub as he officially opened SmartBear ’ s redeveloped and expanded office on the ground floor of Royal Mead , Railway Place .
To bolster company culture and collaboration for its employees in Bath , SmartBear has increased its office footprint to occupy 7,000 square feet with the potential to double its employee headcount .
Workplace design experts Paramount were engaged to redevelop the new office which includes a large boardroom , updated audio visual equipment for several new meeting rooms , game area , and a collaboration area to come together for work or fun . SmartBear say the new design will become “ the gold standard ” for their offices worldwide .
The Mayor said , “ The impressive new SmartBear office proves there is absolutely no holding back Bath ’ s business community at the moment .
“ It was an honour for me to open such a splendid workplace and the bold design , masterminded by the Paramount team , really does say it all about Bath ’ s wider regeneration and economic growth .

The office was originally opened a decade ago by application stability management pioneer , Bugsnag , acquired by SmartBear in 2021 .
The re-opening of the Bath office brings the team into a larger SmartBear branded facility and coincides with expansions of the company ’ s headquarters in Somerville , Massachusetts . It will be followed by other SmartBear global office expansions in 2023 as the company continues to scale and grow .
