VARN LAUNCHES INSPIRATIONAL WOODLAND OFFICE
This year , digital marketing and search engine optimisation ( SEO ) agency Varn created a one-of-a-kind outdoor woodland office , designed to enhance team wellbeing and productivity , as well as providing an inspirational meeting and training venue for clients .
Tom Vaughton , Founder and Managing Director of Varn made a commitment to promoting team wellbeing and offsetting the carbon footprint of the business . This gave rise to the Varn woodland in Bradford on Avon , consisting of over 35,000 trees such as ash , oak , beech and cherry . All managed by Varn , the trees positively offset staff commutes as well as the company ’ s carbon footprint .
Tom , said , “ The woodland office helps us to do good for the environment with tree planting but also allows the team to work together outside , in a creative and inspirational space that supports our employee ’ s wellbeing .
“ The team can go for woodland walks , have meetings under the trees and even burn off some energy in the woodland go-kart .”
In addition to the woodland office , Tom is exploring other ways in which Varn can disrupt and challenge the conventional office setup , in order to create positive work environments and experiences for his team .
He added , “ We have also created a mobile office that we call the CamperVarn . This is a camper van ‘ mobile office ’ that the team can
take out and about , taking in new views and thinking differently as a result of being ‘ out of office ’. This helps our workspaces to become more versatile and dynamic for our team and like the woodland office , encourages working outside and in natural spaces . We also have ' office ' paddleboards and kayaks which team members can use with their friends and families ."
In the summer , Varn hosted its first business festival in the woodland – VarnFest . A unique event where business directors and leaders shared their most valuable work and life lessons , their biggest mistakes and honest stories , to help other business owners and directors on their own journeys . The event was so successful that it has inspired more events . Varn is now hosting bespoke SEO , search marketing and Google Analytics 4 training for clients in the woodland setting , creating an inspiring learning environment for marketing teams .
