8 NAMES FOR 8 WEEKS Visit Bath Despite there being no visitors to Bath, at least not until very recently and those only being for short visits, this has been an incredibly busy period for Visit Bath. From mid-March the organisation had to completely switch from consumer campaigns and engagement, and with a networking event on the horizon, to a completely different focus. The Visit Bath website became a centre for information about which tourist attractions remained open (until they were all closed). It then quickly evolved into a Virtual Bath campaign, which continues to develop. This includes supporting those food and drink businesses that have moved to takeaway models as well as local retailers and virtual events. Over the last few weeks, Visit Bath has begun to resend consumer digital newsletters to inspire potential visitors who may be able to begin to plan their visit later this year. There has been engagement with travel media, international partners, and other external stakeholders. Visit Bath CEO Kathryn Davis said, “The team have been busy working with other partners locally and nationally to share information quickly about what support and grants are available to the tourism and hospitality industry. This includes sending regular updates via email and sharing For more info: www.visitbath.co.uk across social platforms to get the best reach possible. We have also lobbied through government departments and agencies to share information about who was still missing out. This work continues and will not stop. We have been gathering intelligence about how businesses are managing with the lockdown and how they see themselves reopening when it is safe to do so. “Now it is about looking ahead and ensuring that those businesses who can open, in whatever capacity, are getting the visitors they need to thrive and finding a way to support those that can’t.” Assembly Roo BATH’S MOST FLEXIBLE CONFEREN Inspiring conference space and beautifully preserved Georgian in inter-connecting rooms and garden for conference, catering and delegates, this is the perfect conference venue.
