A Quick Recap of

this Years Summer Olympics

Norway receives four medals in the ordinary competitions and eleven in the Paralympics. Yesterday Leif Jenssen won a gold medal in light heavyweight lifting and lifted the amazing 507,5 kg. Knut Knudsen earned himself a well-deserved gold medal in the 4000 m long bike race.

Jan Erik Stenberg, competing in a wheel chair, won the gold medal in the 60 m athletics. And Bente Grønli won silver medals in free swimming and medley.

Changes in the Welfare State

The welfare state of Norway is growing. We are starting to search for oil and gas in several areas of the northern sea. After our first large oil finds in 1969, we are now putting a lot of money into the business at sea. Two days ago, at the 14th of July, the national oil company Statoil was founded. The company is working

towards the welfare state and the

building of Norway. Thanks to the political party (AP) in charge, more and more workers are climbing up in our society. Although the difference between workers and bosses has been minimal, they are now slowly growing apart. Many believe that this is due to Aps loss of power in recent years.
