The project involves building bridges between different regions of Europe, promoting
democracy, dialogue, peace and respect, developing links and co-operation between
teachers and students from schools located in 8 countries, and challenging negative
perceptions regarding European citizenship. By providing students with an enriching
cross curricular project it develops their European awareness and promotes a sense
of European identity. It brings out the accomplishments of every individual, inspires the
students' creativity and strengthens their self-confidence. It develops the students'
linguistic skills and entrepreneurial spirit through the development of I.C.T. skills.
It promotes communication amongst staff and pupils in the different member countries
and between different sections of our own communities. And it fills the gap between
the younger and older generations by encouraging young people to recognise the
contribution older members of our communities have given and can continue to give.
