THE BLUE FEATHER
“Yes,” replied Ek Chuah, “but it will be different for each of
you. Based on the kin of your birth, each kin has a certain Mayan
Spirit that protects humans born on their special kins. Jonathan,
your birthday, December twelfth, is protected by one of the four
Chaob. They are wind Spirits, the one that watches over your kin,
is Hozanek, he controls the southern winds,” Tital said reading
from the book.
“Here is your medallion Jonathan,” Ek Chuah said handing
him one carved out of stone.
“Viviana, your birthday is October the twenty-third, which
corresponds to Huracán. No wonder he is so close to you,” a
surprised Tital said.
“Here, Viviana, this medallion is for you,” Ek Chuah said,
giving her one out of the huge wooden box next to him.
“And mine is a medallion who has Ah Ciliz on the front and
Kukulcán on the reverse side of it. That corresponds to my
birthday of June the twenty-first,” Tital told Ek Chuah.
“Tital, here is your medallion,” Ek Chuah told him after
finding the correct one for him.
“Bardala, take a digital picture of the information in this old
book with your cell phone camera,” said Tital.
