She panicked.

Students started vomiting and collapsing.

Others screamed in pain and agony.

“I feel ill, what’s happening” a girl shouted.

“What is happening!” she exclaimed.

Her friends tried to close the box, but it seemed stuck. The whispers were too strong.

Then something changed.

From the bottom of the box, a soft light appeared. It was warm and calm. Unlike the whispers, it did not hurt. It floated gently toward the center of the courtyard.

When it passed by, everyone stopped arguing.

A boy relaxed his fists.

Two girls stopped shouting.

Students started to feel better.

A teacher’s worried face softened.

The whispers slowly faded. They disappeared into the air, leaving the courtyard quiet again.

She reached out, and the light touched her fingers. It felt like a small, steady flame.

A voice seemed to rise inside her saying, “Even when bad things escape, hope remains.”

Finally, the box closed.

The students blinked, confused but calm. The whispers were gone, but hope remained inside the box.

Her friends stared at her.
