SEASON at IAA

The Volleyball Season of IAA started on August 22, it was the first season of sports at IAA.

Santiago Barbagallo (11th Grade), the captain of the boy’s varsity team and Catalina del Pino (12th Grade), the captain of the girls varsity team, talked about AASSA their experience as volleyball players.

DE: What are some of the most important characteristics and skills necessary for a good volleyball player?

SB: To be a good volleyball player you need great timing to hit the ball, you need energy, speed, agility, etc.

CDP: The most important characteristics of being a volleyball player include an ability of setting, bumping and serving. Along with those basic skills, you have to be able to work as a team and have good sportsmanship.

DE: Why did you join the team?

SB: I joined the team because it gives me the opportunity of playing volleyball in a regular basis.

CDP: I joined the team because I like volleyball, and I like participating in the AASSA tournaments.

DE: What are your team and personal goals at the coming AASSA Tournament?

SB: I want to help my team get a volleyball championship by playing of course, but also by motivating them to show what they can do on the court.

CDP: My personal goals for this AASSA tournament include to spike more and to serve overhand through all the tournament. As a team, I would like to win one game at AASSA.

The AASSA (Association of American Schools in South America) tournament for J.V. was held at IAA on October 14 to 15. In the other hand, for Varsity was at Colegio Alberto Einstein from October 28- 29.
