Background Rooted in the belief that health care equity and justice are nonnegotiable, Rhode Island Free Clinic has become the trusted medical home for nearly 2,000 uninsured adults each year. We provide comprehensive primary and specialty care, including medical and dental services, labs, diagnostics, medications, wellness programs, and health education. At RIFC, we focus on empowerment: Through health literacy, follow-up care and coordinated referrals, patients gain the tools they need to manage chronic conditions and strengthen their longterm health and well-being.
BRAG LINES As part of our dual mission, RIFC is both a medical home and a vital training site for Rhode Island’ s future health care workforce. Each year, more than 435 volunteers, including over 150 medical, dental, nursing, and public health trainees, learn and serve alongside our clinical teams. This hands-on experience builds clinical skills, compassion and cultural humility, preparing emerging professionals to provide inclusive, communitycentered care while helping meet the immediate needs of uninsured adults statewide.
Pay it Forward Our patients are our neighbors, and when every Rhode Islander has access to care, our families, communities and workforce thrive. With over 400 volunteers and a small but mighty staff of fifteen, RIFC provides respectful, high-quality care to uninsured adults across the state. Our extensive academic partnerships create one of Rhode Island’ s largest clinical training footprints, strengthening tomorrow’ s workforce. This work is only possible through generous community support. Your contribution helps ensure our neighbors not only get well but stay well.
