Band, Phoenecian Band, Pangia, Badrawn, Issam Houshan,
Naser Musa, Georges Lamman, and Soheil Kasper, for
helping to train my ears and for influencing my dance in
countless positive ways.
Competing for about 9 years of my dance journey definitely
had an impact on my personal style. I had to learn how to
quickly make a good impression and keep the attention of
my audience, regardless of the style of belly dance I was
performing. I loved the challenge it gave me. After years of
competing as a soloist, I signed up my troupe, “Danza della
Luna” to compete for the first time in 2007. We performed
our Samba/Bellydance fusion choreography at Yaa Halla
Sa’diyya performs with Badrawn
Y’all’s Yellow Rose of
Texas. This was such a
memorable experience because we received a standing ovation and the first place prize.
I took a risk with the unusual choreography and had a trusting team of dancers who
