“I am the bended, but not broken. I am the power of the
thunderstorm. I am the beauty in the beast. I am the strength
in weakness. I am the confidence in the midst of doubt.”
― Kierra C.T. Banks
Late summer 2017 has been a time of devastation and sorrow —
from Hurricane Harvey that left the Texas Gulf Coast flooded;
to Hurricanes Irma and Maria that left a path of ruin through the
islands of the Caribbean, especially Puerto Rico, and Florida; to the
earthquake that claimed the lives of more than 300 people in Mexico.
We want our sisters and brothers in the belly dance communities of
the Texas Gulf Coast, of Florida, of Puerto Rico and of Mexico to
know that our hearts are with you as you begin the long and arduous
task of rebuilding your homes and your lives and your communities.
The road before you is long, but you will not walk that road alone. We
stand with you today and every day.
