fter having read Justin's book you have a
better understanding for the incredible feats this man has overcome. You understand his "tough" exterior, and his ability to walk away from insane crashes and explosions of fireballs. The man seems almost, well, pardon the pun, but bulletproof.
Throughout the photoshoot with our team at The Beauty Battalion, Justin shared his genuine kindness. The tough-as-nails tatted up race dude was actually as sweet as they come. Full of gratitude and appreciation. He had a very calm demeanor, not typical of a diagnosed stage I bipolar, right? I should know, having grown up with my brother who had the same diagnosis.
Having witnessed the many years of highs and lows of severe bipolar disorder, I have a very different opinion of the "disease." While many are quick to lump bipolars into a category of illness, I genuinely feel they are misunderstood. That bipolar disorder simply means, to me, a mental enigma.
Knowing how society judges and perceives mental disorders, made it all the more impressive that Justin opened up and shared his experiences in his book, Bulletproof.
There were many moments during his book that I cried, laughed, and ultimately felt incredibly proud of this man whom I had never met. He was a voice for so many out there, including my brother.
