They say the only constant in
life is change. Our small town
of Bright is a perfect example.
It’s my understanding that
United Dairy Farmers has
purchased the properties at the
corner of Jamison Drive and
Stateline. I’m not quite sure
how I feel about that! On the
one hand, the economic growth
in our town is exciting. Bright
is thriving. UDF will provide
some new job opportunities,
but how many gas stations can
a community like Bright sup-
port? We most likely will see
some competition with price
wars on gas. That’s a good
thing for all of us, I guess.
If you haven’t already no-
ticed, the Schlemmer’s house
across from the Dollar Store
is gone. I’m not quite sure
how I feel about that! I have
many fond memories of that
house (thank you Tonyia). I’m
sure it was a difficult decision
to make. The house was taken
down for more economic
growth. Hopefully, it will be a
nice sit-down, family restau-
O
rant. I’m hoping for a steak-
house, although that is highly
unlikely.
If you haven’t already
put your Christmas tree up,
you better hurry because
Christmas is almost here.
The usual holiday hustle and
bustle has not been too crazy
for us this year. I may even
have time to do some baking
before the holiday. Don and I
wish Christmas blessings to
everyone who takes time to
read my article (I’m always
amazed that people read this
article) and that each of you
have someone to spend time
with this Christmas. I hope
you get what you want for
Christmas and I hope you
give more than you get. If you
are on Santa’s naughty list,
there is still some time to re-
deem yourself before Christ-
mas Eve. Get hustling!

to Christmas music, wrapping
gifts, buying gifts, attending
Christmas concerts, watch-
ing the Hallmark Channel and
making sure that little elf is ac-
tive every night. Oh, how we
love the elf! The New Year’s
Eve Annual Polar Bear Dip,
hosted by the Civic Club, will
start at noon on Jan. 1, 2018.
(yes, 2018!) Civic Club will
also be hosting Trivia Night
on Jan. 27 with more details to
follow. The Children’s Activity
Committee had a successful
Santa’s Workshop. The chil-
dren sat with old St. Nick and
told him their Christmas list.
They also decorated cookies
and made some crafts. Such a
magical time of the year!
