layout with a viewer-friendly
design that still presents good
challenges to the runners.
The South Dearborn
Knights under the guidance of
Coach Baney hosted a four-
way meet with East Central,
Jac-Cen-Del, and Milan on
August 21. The meet started
with a slight delay to await
the passing of a rain shower.
Just prior to the start of the
meet, a wonderful rainbow
was visible behind the runners
at the start line.
Despite the course now
being a bit muddy, the Lady
Members of East East Central, Milan, Lawrenceburg,
and South Dearborn girls’ cross country teams prepare
to start under a rainbow seeming to end in Carnegie Hall
in Moores Hill. The race had been slightly delayed due to
a rain shower and had the wonderful occurrence to be a
race for a pot of gold on the course.
Trojans, coached by another
long-time running coach in
the area, Steve Cotherman,
came out and ran a fabulous
race in claiming the top five
positions to record a perfect
score of 15 in the race.
Leading the way for EC
were junior Emilee Wedding.
With the new course and only
one preceding race, Wed-
ding set a new course record
of 21:48 for the 5K course.
She was followed by team-
mates Lauren Greiwe (22:12),
Emma Fey (22:12), Lily
Greiwe (22:43), and Riley
Davis (22:57). Halle Davis
(7th) and Lacey Kelly (9th)
rounded out the varsity run-
ners for the team.
The Lady Knights were
the second-place team with a
distant score of 65. Leading
the Lady Knights was junior
Brooke Rohe (24:43), and
sophomores Emily Rector
(25:02) and Ella Bashor (25:35)
placing 10th through 12th
respectively. Breanna Helton
(26:48) was 14th and Katelyn
Brown (28:22) was 18th to
