I received a call about 7 years ago from a friend, Wayne
Farabough, who was involved with Little Light House.
Something had happened, they needed help, and that’s
how it all started. I began building playhouses to help
these special beauties. My heart was all over it, and my
daughter Lindsey was 100% behind me. I look forward to
building these special playhouses every year. I see the joy
it brings these kids and all the people at Little Light House.
Also, Lindsey is close to me in it. She is my purple butterfly.
It started with a basic house, but I had no idea what that
house would mean. The money it raised showed me that
I had a God-given talent that could help these kids. And
the money wasn’t all. A therapist told me after the first
playhouse was sold that they were beneficial for kids who
are blind. These children could feel what a house feels like
because of the playhouse. That triggered everything. I had
to do something different. In my mind it was a chance to
see what I could do next. Next I built a tug boat. It was a
big hit. Then, I went way out there and built a glory train
with a caboose. Next was a fire truck, a puppy air plane,
then a castle. That one had a lot of emotions behind it. All
these different shapes and sizes allowing the kids to know
and feel what they are, allowing the kids to enjoy these
playhouses, as my own daughter would.
The Little Light House is an amazing ministry, one of the
best. It helps these special beauties get the chance they
deserve in life. Little Light House cares about these kids
and believes that they have a huge purpose. They don’t
give up on them. No one should give up on them. These
kids are not handicapped by any means. They have a
future ahead of them and believe me, they will touch
lives like no other. Little Light House does a great job
in preparing them for their future. I am grateful for the
opportunity to build playhouses for them, but that is just a
part of it. It takes a lot more than that. They need help from
all of us in their mission to help these special beauties. Get
involved and it will bless you the way it has blessed me. I
am so grateful to have this in my life. You only got one life,
make it worth living. Love the special ones.
