‘If no two vintages are the same - then why should the
label be the same’ - Fraser McKinley of Sami Odi Wines
Using his visual arts background, many years of working
harvests around the world and an astute knowledge
of the land, Fraser takes each years Shiraz crop from
the Hoffmann family in Eben-Ezer and crafts it into
something distinctive each year, then, sets about creating
the unique art work for each release - himself!
It seems like the planets have aligned nicely for Fraser of
Sami-Odi and now he’s able to indulge all of his talents
and abilities to create unique wine that see’s him in
control of every aspect of this venture. From tending the
vines, to making the wine, designing the labels, bottling,
labelling, packing and sending. Fraser does it all with a
calmness and composure that produces an individual
wine that is a complete expression of himself.
A ‘mostly’ portrait and ‘brief’ interview series
exploring the idea that one image has the power
to tell the whole story.
Each ‘sitter’ suggests the next person to
be photographed in this series, and thus ensues
an interesting and unknown trail of Barossa
identities to come.
Stay tuned… Pete.
