Everything you thought you knew about
aged care has changed.
Today, consumers have much more say in determining what
they need to live a fulfilling and rewarding retirement. Aged
care providers like Barossa Village have to be far more flexible
and adaptive in meeting these needs and providing choices.
Older people in our community mistakenly believe that
asking for help to manage their daily lives means losing
their independence. Nothing could be further from the
truth. Seeking support when you need it, results in far better
outcomes for living a happier and healthier life.
We call it an “integrated care approach” that can be
accessed through our retirement living, home care, supported
accommodation and residential care. This integrated
approach is unique to Barossa Village and provides our clients
a seamless transition as they age and the support to live a
productive and better life.
Our qualified staff are available to help you navigate your
way through My Aged Care, tailor a Home Care Package to
help you live independently in your own home, explore the
options of our independent living units in Tanunda, Nuriootpa
and Angaston, or discuss supported accommodation and
residential care.

of Murray Street and Magnolia Street in Tanunda.
“We looked at lots of possibilities and this option suited us best, being so central
in Tanunda to most of the things we do, and having a double garage was
a necessity, because Denis is a bit of a handy man.”
With its high ceilings, light filled rooms, modern design and outdoor area, their
unit exceeds most people’s expectations about retirement living. Being involved
during the building stage, meant that Denis and Jan could add their own touches
to the finishes in the unit and choose their own flooring and window furnishings,
to create a stylish home.
Denis says, “The floorplan was exactly what we were looking for and we didn’t
need a big yard because our lifestyle is so busy at the moment, and we want to
do things other than gardening.”
Living in a cluster of eight units, Denis and Jan enjoy the friendships that have
developed between neighbours.
“We’ve got a good little community and we all get on. From day one we organised
drinks on Fridays and we check on each other when we need to.”
Barossa Village is a community owned, not for profit organisation, celebrating
over 55 years of providing aged care services to the Barossa.
