Q & A Matthew Powers 12 Q What has been the best part about working in PELE this school year and what have you learned from it? Working in PELE has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. It will probably be the easiest/ most enjoyable job I will ever have and I m so thankful to Mrs. Parker for giving me the opportunity. While most of the days I want to strangle one of the children, they have taught me patience and what it will be like to have my own kids some day. For that I will be eternally grateful. A Julianna Carter 12 Q What was your favorite memory of working at PELE this school year? A Everyday when I come to work the kids are always so excited to see me. Their smiling faces make it hard to have a bad day! Bring back naptime? Jasper High School is known for having many different CTE classes you can choose from, and one of the best is our PELE Program. Pre-Employment Lab Education, better known as PELE, has been a part of our school since 1976. PELE is a program where parents or guardians that work for the district can bring their kids, ages three to kindergarten and they are taught every day. High school students can take classes such as Child 74 Designed by Maggie Barbay Development and Child Guidance, where they go to the PELE classroom and interact with them. This program allows students to have daily interaction and see what it is like to be a parent. While taking this class, you are known to the kids as their big kids . Anyone who works in PELE comes away with a ton of memories along with many life lessons and tips for whenever they are a parent.
