Singer, actress, fashion icon and designer and an inspiration for girls of all ages around the world, Selena Gomez (age 20) is making her mark in the world of fame. From being a cute seven year old from Texas on Barney and Friends to being a Sexy 20 year old living it up in Hollywood and starring in her new and upcoming movie Spring Breakers.
Selena grew up in the town of Grand Prairie, Texas. Selena’s mother is a former stage actress, which is where Selena got her inspiration to be a performer came from. Selena’s first starred in Barney and Friends at age seven (in 1999) playing the role of Gianna. Selena still talks to one of her co-star from Barney and Friends and ever since they starred together they have been friends. Actress and singer, Demi Lovato (age 20) also starred in this children’s show by side of Selena. The show Barney and Friends kicked off bother their careers as well as creating there friendship. Selena later on played minor roles such as in, Spy-Kids 3-D: Game Over as well as in Texas Ranger: Trial by fire. Selena also starred in the television movie Brain Zapped. In 2004 Selena was scouted by Disney Channel. Her first minor role on Disney was guest starring
in the hit TV show Suite Life of Zack and Cody and also had a guest appearance on Hannah Montana, which later turned into a reoccurring role. .
However it was not all-smooth sailing when she first started at Disney Channel .Selena filmed two different pilots and both were cut and not to be produced. However that did not stop Selena, three years later in 2007 she was casted for the role of Alex Russo on Wizards of Waverly Place. After having an audience of 5.9 million for the premiere the show became a big success and a large part in creating a name for Selena
Selena also got her singing career going as she recorded three songs. These songs included; a cover of the song Magic for the Wizards of Waverly Place album, in 2008 she recorded a cover to the song Cruella Di Vill, which included a music video and lastly Selena recorded the song Fly to Your Heart which was for the animated film Tinkerbell which was during the same yearIn 2009 Selena formed a band called Selena Gomez and The Scene. .
