Q& A with Judge Ural D . Glanville , Superior Court of Fulton County

Looking back , how long have you been on the bench and how do you think that experience will serve you in this new position of leadership ?
I have been on the bench 25 years : 17 years as a Superior Court Judge and 8 years as a Magistrate Judge . I will use this experience and my 35 years of Military Service to be the best public servant leader I can .
Looking forward , do you have any important projects or goals as incoming Chief Judge ?
In terms of projects and goals I would like to continue to support and grow the following programs :
• At the Justice Resource Center the Family Law and Senior Legal Services Programs .
• The Family Law section ’ s information and education on how to represent oneself in domestic legal matters .
• The Senior Legal Services Program which provides free legal advice to seniors and their caregivers on health , probate , estate planning , consumer disputes , debt collection , and nursing home resident rights .
• Public access to computers , printing , and the legal research library .
• Re-establish a Veteran ’ s Court Mentorship Program .
How do the effects of the pandemic influence operation of our courts going forward ?
Our Court , like many courts , have a backlog of civil and criminal jury trials as a result of the pandemic . It will take a bit to
